parallelogram

Definition

A convex quadrilateral in which each pair of opposite edges are parallel and of equal length.

Etymology

From Latin parallelogrammum, from Ancient Greek παράλληλος (parállēlos, “parallel”) + γραμμή (grammḗ, “line”).
