Definition

The use of the greeting in which one puts one's hands together and bows slightly; greeting with a namaste.

Etymology

Borrowed from Sanskrit नमस्कार (namaskāra), from नमस् (namas, “bow, obeisance”) + कार (kāra, “action”).
