kroepoek

Definition

An Indonesian (Javanese) shrimp cracker, made from tapioca flour, salt, ground shrimps and various spices.

Etymology

Borrowed from Dutch kroepoek, from Javanese ꦏꦿꦸꦥꦸꦏ꧀ (krupuk), from Old Javanese kurupuk (“a crunchy flake”).
