Definition

A narrow, tightly-coiled tube connecting the efferent ducts from the rear of each testicle to its vas deferens, where sperm are stored during maturation.

Etymology

From Ancient Greek ἐπιδιδυμίς (epididumís), from ἐπί (epí, “upon, over”) + δίδυμος (dídumos, “twin; testicle”).
